I knocked out the last press runs on this book last week. Without ceremony, my days have transitioned from printing the book to binding the book. I am keeping all of the printed, folded, and trimmed folios in two enormous tupperware tubs. What if I drop a cup of coffee on it? What if I trip and fall and land on the tubs and then everything gets crumpled up? What if someone breaks into my apartment for revenge and throws them all out the window? I will have to move forward with the assumption that these things will not happen. But they could. They could happen. I am just going to go and check that they are ok.
The last forty-eight hours have seen a lot of activity. Components need to be cut and organized, folios need to be collated, cases made, boxes assembled.
Bookcloth arrived, endsheet papers arrived. Everything needs to be trimmed and prepared.
And here are the first few copies! Just waiting for their boxes to be ready. Next post: a finished book. I swear.
Oh fabbbb! Can’t wait to see the finished thing in the flesh, so to speak!
Thanks, Simon! I can’t wait to show it to you!
wow!
This is so exciting and I am absolutely counting on no one spilling coffee anywhere.
hurray! everything is looking beautiful!
