Deadline Met! Shift Accomplished!
A miracle. My book and its partner print are in the belly of a plane making their way to the San Francisco Center for the Book, just in time for next week’s Shift-lab opening. In just a few short days I printed my way from this:

Here are a few images for your viewing pleasure and my smug satisfaction:
I am getting brief glimpses of the books and prints that will be making their way across the United States over the next few days from far flung points on both coasts as Katie Baldwin, Denise Bookwalter, Macy Chadwick and Tricia Treacy wrap up their printing and post tantalizing bits and pieces online. The Erie Canal. Punctuation marks. What interpretations of shift will I see when the books are finished? Some clues can be found on our Shift-lab blog. When they all finally arrive in San Francisco, Macy will be making boxes to house the books as a set. Stay tuned for more information on that front. In the meantime, are you in San Francisco?

May I ask what kind of paper you used for the interior printed pages of the book?

Hi Emily! I used Bockingford Imperial paper, the white and the gray, a heavier weight for the cards than the wrapper.

Your book looks wonderful, as do the others your link led to. I’m really looking forward to the exhibit, but don’t see anything on the SFCB website about it. Seems funny. I’ll be there on the 20th… the day before the reception, apparently. Ah well, I’ll just have to make time to get back up there. Are you coming over for the SGC conference?
Hi there Linda, thanks so much! Yes, I encountered the same problem this evening when I was writing this post and looking to link to the SFCB website. I hope this isn’t some kind of bizarre exhibition scam! If you are there on the 20th you should be able to see the books, I know Macy Chadwick is setting up on Wednesday. I wish I could make it for the SGC conference but I’ve got a different collaborator coming to England to work on something with me here the same week. But the rest of the Shift women will be there! Thanks again!
