Here it is, a the fruit of my screen printing labors! And at 23 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ it is my biggest print so far, and impossible to do on my vandercook without some kind of paper engineering magic. Four objects, five colors. Now it is time to take a break from the wonders of screen and get my files ready to send away for letterpress relief plates. The design of the book is almost finished, time now to look at paper samples and start to make a plan of action for the puzzles of registration. More on that tomorrow. Below: photos of the process, printing the yellow layer of the cork.
looks very good. it’s been forever since i tried it, and i’m surprised how different it seems and what fine effects you got.
Thanks Velma! I am really pleased with it, and am thinking now about how to incorporate screen printing into my books. I was surprised by the fine detail as well.
Beautiful!
